He also stopped swimming, a sport he had been dedicated to since high school.īut Porco maintained his role in the fraternity that had been his support system since they inducted him into their circle on October 15, 2002. Porco's interest in biomedical engineering gave way to a major in economics. Several associates confirmed that Porco was still struggling in class, and was at least flirting with academic probation, a status that would have required letters be sent to his parents from the school. The loan reportedly created tension between Christopher Porco and his father. ![]() Porco may have provided information about his father, such as Social Security number and assets, and whatever other data was required. He allegedly applied to an online loan service by using his father's name and was approved for a $32,000 loan, sources said. Porco returned to Rochester in September. None of the fraternity members contacted wanted to comment on their conversations with police. "They felt that he was living a different life," at home and at school. "They felt duped," said Maxwell, who was not present in the police interviews.
