![]() ![]() Sergio, I'm not a huge fan of, while I think he's smart he just isn't on the same level as the guys I previously mentioned and he defaults to the same few lines every fight. I do like Brian Kenny and think he should stay. In my opinion, if DAZN wants to be on top, I think they should hire Lampley, and when Max's contract with ESPN expires give him a blank check, although I don't think he'll ever leave because of first take. While Lampley didn't always have the best analysis his tremendous energy made him an awesome announcer, and he has some of the best calls in my memories of HBO "HARD RIGHT HAND BY GOLOVKIN" and roy come on do I even need to say anything. I know Max has the deal with ESPN, but he isn't ringside, and I don't feel like they are using his talents effectively. Now I grew up listing to HBO boxing and hearing Roy, Max, and Lampley call many of the best fights of my lifetime. In a fight like the logan paul fight, or one of the bigger fights where there are likely to be a lot of people watching who are unfamiliar with boxing, I can understand. While I understand that its important for the less experienced viewers to understand how boxing works, spending very significant amounts of time in the championship rounds to discuss it felt very unnecessary in a fight like Garcia vs Vargas. For example in the fight tonight (Mikey Garcia vs Jessie Vargas), there was little to no analysis about the actual fight, and the announcers repeatedly talked about how there was potential for the fight to be scored a draw, and explaining how boxing is scored round by round. However recently I've noticed that the announcers for DAZN leave a lot to be desired. I think the idea of a streaming service you pay for either annually or monthly is a great idea, and is more affordable in the long run, and plus I feel the PPV format is outdated, and as a broke college student, inconvenient to say the least. I've watched the majority of the big fights that DAZN has aired since its creation (boxing not MMA), and I think it's a decent platform and is doing a lot of good for the sport of boxing.
